News

With support from our wonderful volunteer, Charley Stephenson, we are running a competition over the school holidays to design a new T-shirt for the charity! Entry is open to all our member children with NS and their siblings and will be judged in two age groups:

  • Under 8 years old
  • 8 years old and over

All entries will be displayed on our website at the end of the competition (we will only display first names). The winning entries will be turned into t-shirts that the charity can sell and will hopefully raise funds for us as well as showcase the talent of our NS kids and sibs.

The competition will be judged anonymously by a panel of trustees who, depending on how many entries we receive, will choose at least one winner from each age category (but possibly more if we receive a lot of entries from a very wide range of ages within each category).

HOW TO ENTER

Your design should fit on an A4 piece of paper, so no more than 21 cm x 29.5 cm in size.

Entries can be sent either as image files (high quality, a minimum of 300 DPI) or you can send the original document by post (not a copy, we need the original to get a high-quality scan).

If emailing an image file (jpg, jpeg, bmp, gif, or any vector file etc.), please send to info@noonansyndrome.org.uk with TSHIRT in your email title and detail of your child’s first name, age, and whether they are a child with NS or a sibling.

If sending the original through the post, please use an A4-size envelope rather than fold the entry as creases will show up on the scanned image and spoil the design.

If you don’t have the facility at home to scan a document, you can get it done in various high street shops such as Staples, Ryman, some supermarkets, at your local library or possibly even at your school if you ask nicely!

YOUR DESIGN

You can draw a picture or write a slogan or do both! Just try and keep your design fairly simple – don’t draw or write anything too small – so it can be seen properly from one metre away, as the winning designs will be printed as a single image block on the front of t-shirts in child sizes.

You can use as many colours as you like but please try to use bright ones which will scan and print much better, rather than pale pastels. For small children who may be drawing with crayons rather than ink/paint – strong colours will reproduce much better than pale ones.

You can create your design as a collage if you prefer, cutting/sticking items onto an A4 sheet – but again, please do try to use strong colours. Glitter isn’t advised as it may not reproduce well when scanned.

Our logo will be added to the final design, so please be aware that your picture may be shrunk down to provide space for this, which is why we’re asking that you don’t draw or write anything too small.

We hope you have fun entering this competition and we are really looking forward to seeing your designs. The closing date for entries is 31st August and the judging will take place shortly after this. We will keep you updated in our newsletters and on social media.

If you have any questions, please contact us using the info@noonansyndrome.org.uk email.

Thanks to Charley Stephenson for helping us develop this competition and for producing the posters we’re using to promote it.
