I am a degree-qualified Chartered Civil Engineer with a long career in the management of engineering design offices, feasibility studies and major construction projects in the UK and abroad. I have developed and used ‘risk and opportunity’ control techniques to ensure projects are safely completed on time, to the required quality and within budget.
I am now semi-retired and I would like to use my experience to help the charity to continue growing and developing so we can help our families, as well as medical and educational professionals, to gain further understanding of Noonan Syndrome.
My wife and I have three grown-up children and two grandchildren with NS, all with different symptoms and severity. I was also clinically diagnosed with the condition when we took part in studies in the late 1980s and early 90s. However, it was only in 2019 that the faulty gene responsible for NS in our family was identified as LZTR1.
